Hello All, We just installed a new Mark II at my in-laws, I have no experience with the spinner knob air control on this stove. Where would be a good starting point to run this stove? Its not super cold out yet, Its about 60° out now but in the 40s at night. Right now the chimney is at .07 on the manometer, stove temp is 350° towards the top on the side, and the spinner is opened two full turns. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob

Adjust barometer to get your stove down around .04. You have CO detector? You are burning already? Have any pics of your setup and the fire itself?

I have run a Mk II since 09. I have a 26 ft tall masonry chimney with a 7 inch bore no barometric damper. I run the stove with the draft knob open 3/4 turn during the warm days. Normally cold days it is 1 full turn. Really cold days it is 2 - 2 1/2 turns.

As others have suggested adjust your baro weight so you're around .04 wc ( you could be losing 30-40% of the heat you are making ) than you'll be able to find the exact sweet spot , generally for most stoves it's about 1/8-1/4 the total volume of adjustment

I burned a mark 1 for a couple years. 2 full turns was the max I would set it when it was cold out and I needed more heat. 1/2 to 3/4 turn on most days ( 20° to 50°). That would keep the stove between 250° to 300°. I'd open it up as it got colder and wanted more heat. Remember that if you adjust the knob that it takes several hours to see the temperature changes from the stove.
