Pretty much how I’ve been lighting for a while now. One thing to point out. Once the charcoal burns out it will leave a hole in the pile for air to flow though, so you have to keep an eye there. I slowly fill it in as it diminishes. The coal around it is normally going good by that time. If you just leave it that way the fire won’t run good or may even go out.
