Hey,When In Doubt,"Shim It Out"...waytomany?s wrote: ↑Fri. Feb. 11, 2022 9:00 pmI keep repositioning mine. Picks up a vibration that drives me crazy. Normally give it a nudge and it stops.
No doubt that their clever holder arrangement, and the plastic fan flange can age, change and sloppy up a wee bit. Create some shims, and shut it down regarding annoying vibration noise.

On my MKII, it needs a 'rubber mallet dope slap' to remove/ install. No vibration here......the Fasco B75 will only mount with the oil lube holes down(up...the electrical box hits the stove).......DUH!!!! Other than that, works good....nice and quiet. Hounds is getting a Dayton......maybe better than Fasco......wait and see.

At this time, I am not sure if I am getting a Dayton or a Fasco, as my monthly funds are rather low at the moment. I probably will get something at the beginning of next month, as Social Security only goes so far these day's. But I will update this thread when I get one and do the installation. So hang in there guy's.

Now I have to look and see what mine is, will go on either way. And definitely not that tight of a fit.D-frost wrote: ↑Sat. I tried that number and the other smaller numbers with Dayton cross list and no go. I think they make the motor exclusivity for Harmon/Legacy and that might be their part number. Funny the smaller numbers didn't cross either. It looks like the Dayton 2C647 Rectangular Oem Blower, 1350/1550 Rpm, 1 Phase, Direct, Steel is the closest that they have I wonder what the Fasco cross would be?

McGiever, you nailed it! That's exactly what I need. I guess after I get some money together, I will be buying one for my other TLC. It's amazing that Legacy is asking around $200.00 for the same fan. I know that they put a speed controller on theirs, but if you turn it down, It hums really bad, so I turn my speed control off and run it on full. I don't know why you would want to run it any other way.
Thanks McGiever

This is the only speed control for that motor.
Forget light dimmer as motor can stall and burn up.
Also the KB speed control has an adjustment screw hidden under cover plate that can limit the minimum low speed. I might recommend making your minimum not so low…longer motor life.
Trust me, you don’t want infinite speed, just want to tone it down some.

Thanks on the heads up on the speed controller, but I just have a problem with that annoying hum that you get when you turn it down. Even a little bit, the motor hums in the current legacy blower that I have with it's stock variable speed controller.
I generally use a magnetic snap switch that I move around the stove and find the sweet spot where it cycles the fan when the desired heat is needed. I really love those magnetic snap switches. Kinda like a poor mans way of making up for the loss of not having an adjustable thermal spring primary air control, like the DS and Hitzer does. I know the comparison is like apples to oranges, but it keeps me happy.

Try a local HVAC supply business. When I needed a blower motor for the pellet stove in my garage they took a look at what I had and fixed me up with a new motor in a couple minutes. $49 plus tax
