I have read many threads on the importance of a manometer. Where exactly do I get a reasonably priced one? I have been doing some google searches and it seems like all I come up with cost $100 and up. Or is this what I should expect to spend? Can someone suggest a particular model that would work well with my Hitzer 30-95? Thanks.

Having dealt with them for years, I bought mine from 'Cole-Parmer' Scientific.

The Dwyer Mark II Model 25 one most of use use. They reange about $30-45 on many different sites. Ebay from $10-$50 depending. Should work with any stove. you are measuring very small draft range .02-.04" H20 (water column).

I ended up buying a Dwyer mark II. I sent a private message to Isayre but maybe I should have asked all of you.
I have no idea how to actually hook this up to my stove pipe. Are there any tutorials I can find on this site?
Do both hoses, the high and low, get installed into the stove pipe? Do you install the included hose connectors directly into the stove pipe? Or will they get hot enough to melt the rubber tubing? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Only one hose is used, the other vents to atmosphere. I used a piece of auto brake line in the end of the hose to take the stovepipe readings. Set it up as instructed and zero it out, then take a reading. If the liquid moves to the larger scale on the right, its correct. If it moves to the left your hose is connected to the wrong port. I don't recommend a permanent connection because the device needs to be zeroed out before you take a reading.

I just bought a gauge type Dwyer for $20 on eBay. I just made an offer and they accepted. Free shipping too. If you go that route make sure you get one with the right range.
Edit: didn’t see your post about the Dwyer mark 2. I have one of those as well. I drilled a 1/4” hole in and used a 10” piece of brake line to connect the hose to. I pull it out and knock the fly ash out of it every week. It can plug it and give some funky readings sometimes.

As stated, only one side needs hooked up, it will read vacuum (inches of water column) on the gauge, it will be quite low . 02-.04.
Most of us use a piece of brake line and a fitting in the stove or pipe, a little piece of copper tubing or something just to get the rubber tubing away from the stove a little bit. a foot or so.
on the gauge, here is where it will read normally. .02-.04

I have a mechanical mano gauge, but installation would be the same. Pretty easy to do. Good luck!!

That 'mechanical mano' is know as the 'magnehelic' and is pre-calibrated in factory...doesn't use fluid ever.

If you do a search using , "Dwyer" or "manometer" there have been many posts about manometers, various ways to install them, how to use them, plus what the readings will tell you.fpappal wrote: ↑Mon.
