Hand Fed Coal Stove: Franco Belgo 10-1475

Post by BPGruber » Fri. Jan. 15, 2021 3:25 pm

I just found the Woodman's Parts Plus has some new forged parts that they are having made. I ordered a 319204 Top Grate. They were friendly on the phone. They have some cast parts and glass for these stoves. If anyone has a solution for window gaskets for this stove I would appreciate some info. A couple of years ago, I saw you could still get parts in France, but they wouldn't ship out of the country. I purchased my stove from Coal Heat in Alburtus in 1982. That's were I got my replacement glass and gaskets last, but they aren't getting any new parts. Last time I was in the store, they were sold out of everything for this stove. I wonder how long we will be able to purchase coal.

You can have a one piece glass cut but make sure its heat rated for coal. Maybe someone makes custom narrow pieces too, I dont know.

You'll be able to get anthracite for many years.

It’s crazy to think the grate in the UK is about 18 to 22 euros but the freight is about double.

I hope you're right about the coal. Seemed like many vendors that sell coal have stopped, but the mines are still open.

I delt with Coal Heat in PA years ago and purchased replacement grates from them. We took a ride there in Oct of 2020 and new people own it and changed the name. They don’t have any Franco parts left except gaskets maybe. They made a point to tell me the glass in mine is unavailable.
