Do you have any idea what the port in the middle of the bustle that goes behind the fire pot would be for?

I didn’t see those stoves you mentioned. Are they on Facebook?

The other port below fire pot is the check damper.

You pull it open to cool stove temps when all other air is closed. As in under fire air shut, mpd shut, and stove is still to hot.

This lever let's air bypass from going up thru fire pot, sends it up the chimney.
Also works to calm draft on windy days.

Ahh ok I see. I don’t know why I keep thinking these things reburn flue gases. Thanks.
