What about blows air up or blows air down???
With cold concrete walls it may not go by the rules...

Good point. I reversed the living room fan and so far got ankle temp up to 59* so thats an improvement.

Dipped down to 58.8.

But something is going on with the basement stove. It dipped 100*. It’s at 350. I have it set to run at 450. I haven’t been getting as much ash as I was with bit and this Tsc coal tend to burn down to rocks so I wonder if the grates are getting choked down. I might have to get more aggressive with the shakedown. I’d like to set up a pneumatic hammer on the shaker handle. I hate doing stuff the Amish way....lol

Another thing I noticed is the ash pan is more narrow then the grates so maybe ash is building up in front of the bi metallic intake. I’ll have to check that after my morning routine.

Cold air is lazy, it needs a push. Get yourself a 6 or 7 inch desk fan. Put it in the furthest room from stove, set it on the floor,point towards stove. Try low first, give it an hour or two.

Mine runs 24/7/365.

Every cubic foot of cold air pushed away by fan is replaced back with equal amount of hotter ceiling air...done for long enough time cold is drained/gone and warm air is on cruise control, but must let the fan to continue...

Finishing off the 6th bag. If it lasts until tonight at 8pm it will average about 2.5 lbs per hour. I guess that’s not too bad considering the first 2.5 days I was running it between 450 and 550.

You guys made a believer out of me. Our small floor fan runs from stove start to shut down.

Actually I didn’t get a chance to try it. I let the DS burn out because I was itching to try the Clayton 7.2 (thought it was a 1600 until I read the tag) that I have recently connected to my ductwork. So those temps are from the Clayton running on bituminous through ductwork. It was about 21 out with 15 mph winds. I forgot to check windchill.

I woke up to 72* ankle temp 8 hours later. I think forced air is the way to go with this house. Time will tell. Need to see what it does in single digits. Stove was only half loaded. I can’t just dump bit in like anth. Got to ease it in. I’ll spend some time on it this morning and get it loaded up. This Clayton seems to like the bit much better then the DS did. No puff backs yet. Fingers crossed. The DS puffed like mad. With one huge explosion. It definitely is an anth stove.

Had to break out the shorts. I just loaded up 80 lbs of anth into the Clayton. It climbed up to 550 and is lingering there.
