Is it a bad idea having an outlet behind my hitzer 30-95? It is not too late for me to remove it. I am going to attach cement board to the sheetrock with a 3/4 in gap between them. Do you think will be too hot for this outlet? It is a plastic box, but I could still install a metal one is needed. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I got one right behind my 50-93--no problems. Just do your wall clearence properly. Mines like 18/20" with spaced (fence-ceramic-insulators) crete board on wall. Cut a hole for outlet.

I never thought of fence insulators. Thanks for the idea.

Both of my 50-93's have a plug right behind them. No issues over the last 6 years that I've been there and there was a stove in the place of it for who knows how many years prior.

I have an outlet that is behind the range from before when I put the range there, but it's tough to reach without risk of leaning up against a hot surface.

I plugged in one of those short multi-tap extension cords and hung it near the end of the stove where its easier and safer to reach.
