Looks like old Kimmels coal. Good stuff. And great little parlor stove, Grats!

Half of it is Kimmel's, the rest is in plain bags. Both burn good, although the Kimmel's needs less air.Formulabruce wrote: ↑Fri. Nov. 20, 2020 6:27 pmLooks like old Kimmels coal. Good stuff. And great little parlor stove, Grats!
I wish I had some pea coal to try in this stove.

As luck would have it, my local Lehigh dealer decided to get a few pallets of bagged pea on their most recent delivery. I snagged a few bags to try.

After a week of burning pea I can report that it works great when it is cold and or windy, and draft is strong. On a 40 degree day with no wind, it still burns ok but it takes the stove a long time to recover after reloading.
If I was only going to stock one size for the Chubby it would be nut.

Rob,
I have 2 Chubbys in the basement, one on a good drafting chimney, and one on a poor draft. I agree.....at 40* outside...not very efficient....I put wood in the Yukon furnace. 'Nut' size burns the cleanest, and I keep a bucket of 'fines' on the side to slow any 'runaways'. Chubby is an excellent stove for it's size....with the blower, amazing heat output. 'Gotta luv a Chubby'!!!!
Cheers
