Hello everybody,
I'm about to hookup a coal stove in a new building to the existing masonry chimney. It is a 2-story building and I'm hooking in on the 1st floor. The current flue connection is at about 10'-11' off the ground. My question is, should I rig up some sort of support for the flue pipe? The walls are just brick. I'll plan to put a cleanout at the bottom and likely again at the 90 at the top so it is easy to clean. Thanks for any advice.

Hook it up with three screws in each joint and then judge how secure. I think the stove supports most of the vertical.

If ya use a "T" instead of the elbow (90*)--put a cap on the remaining outlet screws & you'll be able to clean easily. Yes, screws should be stable enough on upright pipes.

I'll plan for that. Never have done one quite that tall before.
