Hi everyone - just wondering if there is anyone out here who has a DS Anthra Max (Either the 14 or the 15) who burns wood in it during the shoulder seasons and could speak to how it performs as a woodburner. I am also curious about how the ss baffle goes in and out (is it hard to install and remove). Any real time experience with the Anthra Max would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone out there with an Athramax that can comment on this?

Did you try a search? That might be the stove ultra was using earlier this year.

Sorry, that was a comfortmax 75. I don't know how similar those units are but he was burning wood and he described it well in that thread.

I would try the search function as it seems I recall someone trying and another not recommending it in the anthramax. I’m pretty sure it was designed strictly to maximize the coal burn...and that’s not meant to say wood can’t be burned in it...I don’t know.

Yes I was burning wood in the comfortmax but it has a separate air control for over the fire. I let the coal go out but looks like I may need to burn some wood later this week. I just finished some research on the Comfortmax 75 on here. Read all 23 pages of the threads in the search. Been reading a few days.

Just got a new Anthramax with the top baffle kit, havent installed the kit yet and don't plan on it anytime soon but it looks easy to put in. the hopper lifts out easily and it looks like the baffles go in its place
