Hello,
This is my 3rd winter running the Hitzer 50-93 in the house. I don't use the blower terribly often until it gets below 10* outside then I turn it on to help get the heat to the other side of the house. It works great! I noticed with last little cool down that the blower is louder then normal. Also on shut down or start up of the blower is making a rather noticeable grinding noise.

Any input on oiling the motor/blower assembly? Preferably with out removing it from the stove.

Thank you!!!

D, check fins on blower--might be some STUFF mighta got in them--I've looked for oiling holes on mine to no avail. BUT, I did find a couple real small chunks of coal had gotten in the fins somehow!! I ended up putting some lgt. weight foam cloth over each end of blower motor after cleaning fins & have not had any noises since. Just a thought. :)

I'll check that out tonight when I get home, I've always thought about building some type of inlet box for the blower so i could put a furnace filter in the set up but don't use the blower enough to justify this.
I'll take a look tonight when I get home to see how the fins/cage are.

I've oiled my blower fan. Made quite the difference. Problem is; I don't remember how I oiled it.... Use to give it a little shot every year. I'm thinking it had slots to stick the straw down in. Wait till you have a mouse jump into the squirrel cage fan......

Mice do not survive a Toyota Camry fan on high. August temperatures required prompt removal of remains & cleaning fan & housing of bodily fluids. :|
