Are those little metal fans that work off the heat of the stove worth the money ? My stove doesn't have any blower on it and I was thinking of trying one of these things. However a lot the reviews say they don't seem to move a lot of air.

Probably more than a housefly but less than a butterfly.

Lots of Amish around here that use them & they work real well--most of their stoves are HITZERS one model or other--point being, if ya got a lot of radiant heat from the stove top, you'll be pleased with the fan--no elec. needed

I have one and they work really well. They move just enough air over time to keep everything heated evenly. My stove is in my basement in a partitioned room in my basement and I was initially thinking that maybe that room would hold heat, but with two door open and that little stove fan running all the time, the temp of that room and the other side of the basement 50 ft away are always exactly the same temp.
