Am I right to think that this model will be more efficiency than a comparable model with blower, due that there is no air space chanel below 1/4 inches stove top metal plate ?

Efficient as in burning less coal than a blower model?

BTUs are the same whether the air is carrying them or they're being radiated. Just depends on which one of those heat transfer methods works better for you.

Probably have used my stove blower 1/2 a dozen times in 10 yrs. I've got a ceiling fan in my stove room that distributes heat much better in this broke up 200 yr. old farm house.

Here is pictures of a non-blower model.
I never use the blower on my 50-93 that heats my whole house without any problems.
My 30-95 Will replace my stoker installed last fall in my 22 x36 garage. Air circulation is made by my ceiling fan. Stoker: too much mechanic and electronic for me. Too many parts subject to be replaced and too much maintenance....

We use the blower on our 50-93 when it gets real cold. Moves the heat around our center chimney structure nicely.

My 50-93 installed in my basement heats my 1400 sq ft house very well simply by gravity
With the years, I realize that the blower is very efficiency if your heating a single floor area.

I installed a blower system on my DS1500 this season and can not say enough about the additional amount of heat it removes from the stove before dumping it out the flue. Well worth the little amount of money to get the net result.

Buy the stove with blower. It doesn't mean you have to use the blower. The blower is nice when needed. You won't know how nice the blower is until we're in a deep freeze.
