Help with replacement baffle and hopper

We have a 503 hitzer that needed the baffle and hopper replaced. We just bought the house so we are new to the hitzer. We got the replacement parts and can’t get them to fit properly. Can anyone suggest and input? I have attached photos of the old baffle and the new one. There is a photo of how we were able to get it in but the bolt doesn’t go in on the hopper. Then a view from above showing the baffle in the way.

Is you 503 older...
Is there a draft damper rod just above the glass door...
Hopper loading ...
Cast iron lift off or a swing door...

Where did you get the parts from...
Direct from Hitzer or outside vendor...

Yes draft damper rod above, hopper lift off, cast iron lift off door. Not sure of the age. We ordered the parts from a local hitzer dealer.

Was the old bracket removed...

stove guy feels it likely will fit now that the original bracket that fell off my stove is no longer in position.

The new baffle is bigger, has a gentle bend in it, and is designed to sit on the metal bracket at the top of the rear fire bricks and then to lean forward and against the back of the hopper. [The curved part of the baffle is closest to hopper--curve is up and part that touches the hopper then effectively bends down and toward hopper]. When my new hopper arrives, I will try to position the new baffle and stove guy feels it likely will fit now that the original bracket that fell off my stove is no longer in position. See photo of old and new style baffles.

Also, the new baffle design described in an earlier post fits nicely atop the back bracket holding the rear firebricks, then leans into the back of the new hopper in a secure way.
