I did a search on Google for Esse Stoves. They appear to be attractive and well made. However there is no way to know how effecient they are or how well they work compared to other makes just from the website.
Personally I'd lean towards a product made here in the States, both to support local companies but most importantly, to have the actual manufacturer not too far away, instead of across the Atlantic Ocean.
Just my opinion, but it does seem to help to get better after-the-sale service if the product is made nearby.
The Esse Stoves are attractive, and there are several to chose from. Hopefully someone on the forum has one or knows of someone with some feedback for you.
Take care, LsFarm

The attractive part here is the size, plus although not EPA rated, they are multi-fuel stoves. I have an application where I have a pretty small basement room, on the order of 450 sqft, and putting a Harman Mark III down there would give me the ability to cook dinner in the room. Maybe a Harman Mark I, but this Esse 500 or a Morso 1410 seem like nice looking small stoves. At least my local dealer has Morso, but your point on US made products is a good one. Can't beat the "made in PA" quality of a Harmon. I do find the Harmon's a bit furnace like in appearance. The case iron Esse or Morso's seem a lot nicer looking. The VC Vigilant looks nice too, but it's a huge stove.LsFarm wrote:I did a search on Google for Esse Stoves. They appear to be attractive and well made. Esse stoves have only recently been made avaliable in the US. They are very nice stoves, decorative cast iron. A little pricy, but they do burn well. They make a wonderful cook stove. I have not been at all impressed with Morso's burning, but would not hesitate to purchase an Esse.
Just my opinion, take it for what you paid for it
