What fix has anyone used to get a vent pipe on a Crane 44? The outlet O.D.from the stove is 6.00 inches--- the ID is 5.50 inches. I can't get a new 6 inch stovepipe over it and cannot crimp stovepipe hard enough to get on the inside of it. Your thoughts would help greatly since I do not want to take a grinder to the O.D. ,that just would not be good. Anyone know what was used from factory , maybe some kind of flue adaptor?? What are you using? Please help.

Any GOOD stove shop can roll an adapter to fit perfect...

I do agree with you, but unfortunately the stove shops locally [2] can't help unless they have something to sell off their shelves made by others.

You must have an HVAC supply house near by. They can make damn near anything.

Thank you coalvet, that looks like the kind of thing I was looking for but did not know or have never seen before. Do you have the feeling that the Cranes came from factory with something like that? Another chat with the stove shops is in order unless I can find it on line.

Hammer the crimp flat on the end for a few inches, and see if it will then fit.

Franco the only way I can get the crimp to go inside the ID on the flue outlet would be to actually slice thru the crimped area in a couple of spots and collapse it a bit and that would make me unsure of the joint. In addition I went back to the stove shops and requested the sleeve that is shown earlier in this thread and they said they have never seen or heard of anything like that, disappointed. I guess it is time to turn the lights on in the shop and do something wacky to make this stove warm because we are getting close to one of those mornings when a little heat is required.

I like the looks of the other one pictured better, but I use one of these to connect a double pipe to single. Ive had to replace it I think twice in 15ish years. Dont just trust the drawband, use screws too. https://www.menards.com/main/heating-cooling/vent ... 25&ipos=25

I meant to fit the pipe over the flange , not inside. Use the uncrimped end. Carefully measure the flange diameter, or stretch a piece of string around it and measure that length. Six inch is 18.85 inches in circumference. Hammering the crimp flat will get the inside diameter of the pipe closer to six inch. Measure the pipe to see if it is actually six inch inside diameter.

not to be a smuck but, i can't tell if you tried getting the uncrimped end of 6" pipe or elbow over the outside of the stove flange ? many times this works, and, points the crimp up like it should be.

BTW, i like coalvet's coupling if you can't push 6"single wall over the stove collar.
