Actually got good news today. I'm not totally new to coal I have been burning it in my garage for a few years now. However I'm replacing a buck stove in my house with a hitzer 983 and it arrived today at my dealer.

Calm down oh hasty one. I refuse to allow the thermostat to trip until at least September 20. I do need to shut down and vac the fly ash out though and examine everything for wear. It sounds to me like Winter is going to be a real witch here in the Alleghenies so we at least need to be sure everything is ready.

Open all doors and windows. Strike a match. Should have ok draft at 81 OAT
low 90's might cause some trouble.

I'll hold onto mild weather as long as I can! Bah Humbug!

I enjoy burning but I like outside T-shirt weather too. One small wood fire so far here.

I read the squirrels seem to hide nuts, but later they have no idea where they left them.
...or was that me?

I changed the ash tubs on the EFM this evening and was thinking I gotta get a load of nut for the stove soon. Time slips by you know.
