I'm out this year. The other half got a new living room suite (off white of all colors!) this summer and has forbade me to fire up the insert this year. :( She says the she isn't going to cover her new furniture and no matter how careful I am some fly ash always escapes. Oh well, at least oil isn't $4 a gallon. :?

Nil carborundum desparandum ... You can only get a free divorce if the court agrees to waive your divorce filing fee. Contact your local county courthouse clerk and ask about pro se litigant divorce requirements. ... You can only get a fee waiver if you and your spouse are financially unable to pay the filing fee for financial hardship reasons.

Once you get that done send pics of the stove. Plenty of good fish left in the sea.

finally dumped a half bed full of lehigh nut (about 50lbs) in the gibraltar on top of a wood fire i let reduce mostly to embers. i knew if i didnt the house would have been cold in the morning because im not waking up to stuff more wood in her. so far this season has only been wood fires to take the chill out at night. so nice to get the coal going even tho its going up to 60 today... hopefully i can turn down low enough and keep her going all day and liven her back up at night a little without the house getting too hott... but it was a beautiful thing to wake up to the upstairs at 71* and down stairs at 82* and it was 32* outside with a stove face temp of 325*. turned her down this morning hopefully shell hum along at 250*face temp for the day. didnt even shake down this moring, ill shake when i get home around 1.

Finally getting some cold weather on The Cape...
Getting down to the mid 30's...
Have to give the 503 a good cleaning...
And some new gaskets...
Leftover clinker and ash helped the stove run low and slow...
But now the weather has finally turned...
It was up to 70* last night...

Yesterday was 70 and short sleeves. That cold front came crashing in with 50 MPH winds and by this morning it was 37.

Pennsylvania sucks.

Power was out 13 hrs last night till morning.

Hit 3 white outs on the way to work.
Now it's getting cool outside.

You ain’t kidding Mugsy. I had to stop 3 times on the way home last night for trees down across the road.

I was so tired though it could have been the same tree 3 different times. :o

29 for a low tonight in 10953 NY & teens tomorrow !! I can’t friggin wait to see what the chubby jr. can do . This little stove hasn’t really come off a high idle of 300 so far .funny the wife isn’t so much sharing the excitement ? The dog on the other hand parks right in front of the stove with me . So I figured you boys could appreciate the the first few cold nights test runs . I’ll keep ya posted on performance.... stay warm gang 🔥

I fired up with some wood a couple days ago. I have enough wood in the house for the weekend and will probably start layering on coal Monday.
It didn't take this cat to long to re-discover
his winter spot.😎

I lit up on Nov. 1st. Probably the latest I can recall. Good timing and a low of 21 is predicted for tonight. We've already had a few frosts and nights in the 20's. This year's load of Blaschak bulk seems much better than what I got last year. Also seems to be the usual stove/nut range.
