Was ashing my Godin this morning and a piece came out along with the ashes (see attached picture). From what I can tell it is from right behind the ash door. What do I do? Can I continue to use the stove without it? Help, please!!!!

I think I need more data.... Do you mean you think it’s from inside the ash door? Are the doors closing down okay? Are the grates operating okay?

It is from behind the ash door against the wall. Think of it like the trim around the door frame. The metal pieces that is the ash door is fine, the ash door closes fine and the grates are operating fine.

From the looks of the left side it's been right in the fire, I mean in the red to white hot fire. It' looks like something to hold the end of a grate. I'm wondering what the other part of it looks like.

The piece was cool enough to touch so that red to white is discoloration.

That bit in the images you posted looks more functional than decorative to me. But if everything seems jake I'd just keep it going....and maybe keep an eye out for milder weather so you can bring it down for closer inspection. Post what you find out and good luck.

Thank you Fred. That was, as always, my major concern. I will endeavor to have the lintel replaced after the end of the season.
