Yeah I’ll have to fiddle with ceiling fans on the first floor. I have two in the living room and the two back bedrooms each have one so it’ll me nice to experiment and see what works.
The gentleman that built this house over engineered the snot out of the thing! The room over the garage is supported by steel beams and my garage floor literally lowers to a ramp. The winch in the picture I added because pushing a button on a wireless winch was much easier then dealing with a come-a-long!
I have been checking out some YouTube videos from Messick. Very helpful videos for sure.

Wondered how the cars got from the garage to basement floor...
And out again...

I guess the gentleman had an old ‘33 or ‘34 Chevy he used to keep in the basement. There are a few tire marks down there from where he had it parked.
From what my neighbor said the man would remove support legs under the floor and then lower the floor with a come-a-long and then run the car up the ramp and out the driveway. I used that system but it was a real pain in the hands!
He must have had that side of the garage ripped up and built the whole floor/ramp system. I don’t know if I have a picture of it lowered. I’ll have to look.
But like I said...I spend a lot of time in the basement and garage so if this set up doesn’t heat the upstairs well enough at least it will heat those areas nicely.

The DS in the link is a beast and quiet...
Had it in the basement of my old 'house'...
Hunting camp turned beach cottage 1000 sq feet...
Drafty, old windows and minimal insulation in walls...
Kept it toasty warm...

So i have the chance to purchase a Harman Mark II for $550. Does anyone think this would be "sufficient enough"?

Its a pretty stove. My first stove was a harmon TLC2000. It had 3 banking bars next to the door. I don't know if this should have them or not but, I would assume it should In the TLC, when you loaded it with coal, you loaded to the top of the bricks / top of the banking bars. It had a thick even coal bed.
Maybe someone that has this same stove will chime in.

Had a MarkII...
It was ok...
No bimetalic air control, just a spin knob...
Burned out faster in front due to thinner coal bed...
No hopper...
Coal capacity ok but not great...
Not the best stove for a set and forget...
But if you are home to adjust the air on it then maybe...
Moved up to the DSM Basement #4...
Loved that stove...
Held a boatload of coal, hopper and bimetalic...
No fan, but pumped out the heat...
Just not real pretty for a living room...
The Hitzer 503 I am heating with now...
Is prettier than the DSM...
Also necessary due to lack of extra flue...

Honestly I would suggest a hopper fed hand fire stove. Easy to use, Easy to maintain and with a bi-metallic temp control it will maintain a pretty constant volume of heat. Get one with a removable hopper and you can burn wood in it too.
Just my 2 cents worth lol

I think he has settled for the added evenly balanced distribution that a forced air duct system can offer...that, plus a set it and forget it thermostat on the wall.

Sorry the boss had me busy this weekend and i work nights!
Yes, I believe i have settled for "evenly balanced distribution". I will continue to do more research and learn what options i have. Thank you everyone for showing me the light!!
