Hi everyone,
I am looking for a manual for my parents Efel Bastogne coal stove which I've found through researching online is the same as Surdiac Brule-Tout. I've searched Google for a while and this site with no luck. I appreciate any help.
Thanks.

Throw a picture on if you can. It may be close enough to an Efel Surdiac I used to use and my manual might work.

These pictures are not mine but just grabbed from Google. The stove is in my parents basement and they are a few hours from me. However I will say, it is in absolutely perfect condition.

Looks like a nice deep fire pot and and space for a decent ash pan. The offset poker indicates it is to be sliced rather than shaken to clear ash. I don't know the function of the back lever.

With this forum you don't need a manual. Clearances should be listed on a plate attached to the stove along with output.

nice looking stove. I think the rear lever is to adjust the air intake on the back, or at least it looks like mine did. Yours is a lot different than mine was so my manual wont be any good.

If it has a shaker thing on the back side, it really doesnt do much good. Just use a slicer to get the ash out. Dump the ash religiously because a replacement grate, if even available, will be hundreds of dollars.

The lever is the air intake, and it has a bimetallic thermostat connected to it, similar to a new Hitzer has. The ash pan is a good 6" deep, and it has a shaker grate, takes pea coal, and has a hopper that is removable. The issue is that it has no tag on it with clearances. I was hoping someone would have a manual for that reason primarily.

You may have to use the standard clearances if you cant find the correct ones. With a proper heat shield on a flammable wall it will get you down to either 16 or 18" away from it, I forget which. Single stove pipe is 18" without shield and 6" with it. I am unsure on floor clearances.

Take a good look on the backside of the stove and if it has a heat shield look carefully behind it for a steel label. It would be odd for anyone to remove the clearance label.

Yours appears to be a better model than mine ever was with that deep ash pan. Nut sized coal may work ok in it too.

So I've finally visited my parents for the holidays and it does have a tag after all. My father didn't quite understand what I was talking about with the tag but it's all there and in great shape. It even has the tool to open the hopper. It's very small compared to most coal stoves. From what I've researched, it says it puts out about 7kw, which converts to about 23k BTU.
