I have 2 joints leaking when I try to close the damper some. I never screw the joints but I did this time. I have rotated the seams and it still leaks. Now I have a tree that is causing negative pressure. I trimmed it back over the summer but I see it is going to have to come down. I do have my joints with the male ends running back to the stove. Does that make a difference since I am burning coal now?

That's the way I have it. I am going to cut that tree down tomorrow. I know it is what is messing up my draft.

Thanks

Hold on before cutting trees down. Can you post a pic of the tree, house and chimney all in one frame?

I didn't cut the tree down yet. It was rain and ice all weekend. The tree is about 10' away from the chimney. Our wind comes out of the west most of the time and it hits this tree and rolls back to wards the roof. I noticed how bad it really was when I was sweeping the chimney this fall.

So after you load you close the door and open the air intake on the door to burn off the gasses released and then you close it back up in a few minutes?

It all depends usually takes hour or 2 for the vols to settle down.

I have my baro sealed up as a test so far this new stove is doing well. We see tomorrow when we get 35 mph winds on a side note it doesn't seem breezy in house now. I did not even have a baro before my adventure with the U.S stove junk boxes i had times were if i gave it too much air it would run hot but thats to be expected.
