I've never seen anything like it! I typed coal stove on facebook and a bunch of really amazing old pieces were there!

Very interesting - thanks for posting that Amberh.

The Europeans certainly have a different view of stove design than we do on this side of the pond. But then, their designs are driven by differences in size of areas needing to be heated, and type and availability of fuel.

Coal Size/Type: Rice, Chestnut and whatever will fit through the door on the Harman
Other Heating: Noth'in but COAL! Well, Maybe a little tiny bit of wood

My apologies Richard. I just thought it was fascinating. I've never seen any stove of any kind with the burners set in a triangle! The link above goes to a different coal stove. Also antique. Also very cool. Apparently if you go on facebook and just type coal stove/furnace/stoker, many cool finds pop up!

Don't get excited about European coal stoves. Most are very poor designs and all are designed to burn Lignite and peat. None of the old ones are for anthracite. If they have a round fire pot and a simple slotted grate, stay away
