Preaching to the choir. Having read through a lot of posts regarding outside temps dictating coal burning finally got to see first hand last couple days when outside temp dropped to 20's. With outside temps in mid 30's stove would sit at 400, even went out once when warmed up overnight to 40's. Recent cold temps in lower 20's have it racing at 500 with air inlet almost shut, amazing. So 10-15 degrees ambient temp drop adds 100+ degrees stove temp, who'd a thunk.
