Yes that is normal. It depends on how hot you burn. During times of mild weather and low heat demand the blues will be quite elusive. Later on in the depths of winter when she's pumping out heat the blues will be around much more constantly.

Other Heating: House - Propane Forced air furnace. Garage - Hydronic in the concrete floor with Pellet stove supplement.

Ok thanks. Kinda figured that however being new to coal , I needed a confirmation lol. So much better than dealing with the Wood!

Wood is a material sometimes used for starting coal fires.

Oh Yeah , that's right. It's what started mine however it was mill cut so it does not count lol.
