I did find this not to far away for $300. It’s a Franco Belge stove. How are these stoves and burn times on them? They said it burns pea, I have about a half Ton of nut left over would it burn that fine also?

Thats a European stove. Not that its a bad stove but your not going to get the burn times you want from it.

They tend to have cracks because they have been pushed hard...
There are better used stoves out there...
The hotter it gets the cheaper the stoves are priced...
Summer is the best time for used stove purchases...

Well, I didn't want to be so bias, as there are many stoves out there. However, I have to say; if I were looking for a used coal stove to heat my house with, I'd be looking for a "Good" HITZER 50-93. So, I agree with Fred. The 50-93 is a great performer, you can idle very low, with long burn times, and is very user friendly / easy to operate.

A good small Warm Morning might fill the bill for long burn times as well as cheap price.

if you are heating 500 sf of well insulated space a Warm Morning 617A would do the trick nicely.

this is a compact, simple stove that holds 60 #'s of coal in a column, the whole stove is basically a self feeding magazine.

even if you had 20#'s of ash on the grates you would still have 20 #'s of coal actually burning and another 20 waiting above that.

meaning if you had it turned down to about one pound an hr ( primary open about 1/16" ) you would have a recoverable fire after 36 hrs.

these come along from time to time the grates and draw center can still be purchased and are reasonable, the bricks are too but they are extremely expensive though recastable if you have any good ones to work from.

i have a DS Machine1400 circulator with hopper that would do the job as others have mentioned, as far as that goes i think their 1300 would probably do it

best of luck,
steve

Thanks I’ll look into those a bit more also. Right now there are a bunch of those European stoves for sale used but not much else in that price range. Luckily I have time.
