A buddy of mine was looking for a heat source for his shop. The questions about coal started rolling in. Honestly...I was in heaven. Even more thrilled when he asked me to help him out. I feel I'm just paying back my debt by passing along knowledge learned through the many great folks here. I knew whatever stove was installed it would be rode hard. Having owned a Chubby and thought it would be a good fit for his shop I advised him to call Larry. One week later a Chubby blower model arrived at his shop. All hooked up and ready for light off. I checked over the install, ran through everything with him and his guys and lit it off. An hour later there were smiles all around. Nothing like good ol' American fuel at work! That blower model can really move some heat, very nice feature. I did notice the barrel temp's drop when the blower was turned on. I assume it'll take some time to level off with the blower running. I didn't realize the blower draws that much heat from the stove. It definitely kicks the heat out though!! I'm not too familiar with the blower models. No mano, but draft seemed great. Stove was kicking the baro door open at the -.08 setting during start up with blower off. Another happy burner.

Good job Tom. Were you a traveling salesman, in your younger years? where does he get his coal from? Same supplier as you?

No Joe, not a salesman. Yes, same supplier as me. Only one on Long Island...that I know of. Changing the world one piece of coal at a time!

That seems a bit high, I believe-.03-.05" and it should pump out more heat.

Yes it's a bit high. First light off, I set the weight high to keep the baro door closed and get the stove cranking. I'll adjust it once the stove settles in. Wanted to be sure it was drafting good.
