Chubby stove won't get above 300°

The Chubby is not a good application for a basement heater expecting to heat the floors above. It is designed to be in your living space and as such excels as described by the manufacturer as a "supplemental" heater that can carry the bulk of the heating load for a reasonably insulted 2000 sq ft living space in New England.

Just a thought, but if the stove shares the same flue with the fireplace you may be losing draft through the fireplace.
