3/4" and high density is a very good idea. What are you going to use to attach or bond it to the door frame?

I plan to use 2000 deg rutland silicone,

but i'm thinking 1/2 0r 5/8 high density , have you used 3/4 on a mdl 37 before ?

Thanks

Yes, It will be hard to close at first but it will compress and conform to be perfect with some time and use.

No, I chopped it up and added a stoker in it, then I found a Axeman Anderson stoker boiler and mothballed the Riteway 37.
Still have all the stock internals though.
