Go ahead, post your current running temperature.

Here is mine bottom right of loading door. Top right runs 150F hotter.

Just had flu just over 700F! Loaded 50lbs, overair open, wait 10 minutes.

This is about maximum safe (I believe), have had it up to 550F.

Hi VigllPeaBurner,

You're stove must be casting quite the beam of heat across the room at those temps........
That's one thing I've always admired about the Vigilant I had.........The beam of heat. It would throw a beam of heat clear across a 20' room.

Hey OP - it sure does! I played around with DW's iPad and found an "Infrared" setting for the camera. If you look closely, you can see the "heat" spreading across the floor from the windows.

The highest temperature i ever lasered on my stove top was 636 degrees. And likely it has gone somewhat higher when not being monitored.

DS Machine told me 700 degrees is no problem. And that problems begin at 800 degrees.

My magnetic thermometer reads about 515 degrees when the laser says 635 degrees. I trust the laser far more than the magnetic dial thermometer.

And on the downside when my laser indicates 300 degrees my magnetic thermometer reads about 400 degrees. So it is always hopelessly way off.

life is full of "this is like that" experiences of self understanding. stove body hot spot temps and comfort levels are one of them.

in motorcycling there is a saying "take your own ride", by that it's understood that you will go where, when and how YOU like and not get drawn into the antics of others.

stoves are about the same.

i'd call Hitzer about that 450* "safe zone" on the 82 though ;)
