Do any of you use a heat powered fan? What have your experiences been?

In laws use one on there saey Hannover 2, it spins pretty fast lol they also have the magic heater on each stove in the flue pipe, comes on quite a bit when the stoves are above 400.

Yes I have two of them. One on the stove in the house and one on the stove in the garage.
My Hitzer 30-95 didn't have the blower option so I set one of them on the top. Works like a champ.

They are great and make no noise.

And to be honest I bought the rather cheap knock off ones off of EBAY because I didn't know it they were going to be worth it. They were!
I tried the Magic heat in the flue, worked great in the fall burning wood but with the low flue temps when burning coal it didn't do much.

I know for the price of most of them, I could buy a few lil box fans & eat the elec. charge. As is, my ceiling fan does real well when needed & that's around 0 or below. This is a real broke up 200 yr old farmhouse.

That's why I went cheap to start. My brother has an expensive one on his wood stove that he's had for 5 years now. Still running along.

Amen to ceiling fans. i also use a fan on the floor blowing into the room with my stove on a real low setting (below low setting). it is a real amazement how well that will circulate heat around a home, kind of a cold air return system....

it is a lot easier to heat a house blowing cold air at a stove then to try to blow warm air away from it, something I never figured out until I found this website. These feller's know air movement!

If I was off grid, or just for entertainment, I would have and eco fan.

It's listed in the link you posted...40 degree oscillating. I might get one for the Vigilant, it has a flat surface... reasonable price

The four blade looks cool. The Chubby throws a lot of heat. I'm not a fan of the blower due to the noise also I have to run the stove hotter and tend more often

A ceiling fan anywhere near the stove is all you need, if you can do that.. and move the air up not down..
