So I've burned wood my whole life, I'm seriously considering going coal and right now I have the opportunity to purchase a used model 55 for $300 , i want to go coal in spite of the fact I get my wood for free. Wood just doesn't burn long enough.what kind of advise can you give me?
I'm happy with my coal stove. We have a Coal Chubby upstairs which I fire up on my days off and we enjoy the warmth it provides. Everyone is walking around the house in shorts when it's in the teens outside. It's a constant heat with 12hr burn times.Im putting a large Warm Morning stove in the basement which I am hopping will heat the house on all but the coldest of days. Also Im told I may say 20+ hr burn times. No splitting,No stacking,No drying. Coal is the way to go. Good luck with your new stove. People who are afraid to burn coal don't know what they are missing.
