Hello all, been a little while since I've been on here! Well...I just purchased a brand spankin new chubby stove top vent blower model from Larry T. It is getting shipped Wednesday morning so hopefully by Friday I will have my first fire in it. Wew hoo! Larry is a great guy and fun to talk with, answered my questions over the phone and by email fast. I will stay tuned on the progress of my journey of hooking it up and starting a fire for the first time.

If you have the photos on your computer, an easy way is put the ones you want to post on your computer's desktop.

Then, in the box that you write text for a post, drag and drop each picture, one at a time. Look down, just below the text box on the right and when the green bar turns into a green circle with a check mark, it's uploaded. Then drag/drop the next picture. When all the pictures are uploaded press the submit box.

Forgive me for asking :shifty:
I am not familiar with Chubby stoves.
My impression has been they are refurbished?
Are new Chubby stoves manufactured?

Congrats on the new Chubby, it’s a learning curve but you will love it. I’m on my second year with my reconditioned Chubby and for my setup I think I have it figured out thanks to the people on here and Larry.

How far away do I need to install my baro damper on my pipe? I'm hoping to be able to install it on a T where my 90* turns into the thimble so when I need to clean out the ash I can open the baro to sweep it out. So the baro might be about 24" away from the top of the stove roughly! Don't remember how tall the chubby is so I'm waiting to get the pipe when it gets delivered tomorrow. Thx all

Not sure if yours is a top vent . Here is how mine is set up. From the stovetop up , short piece of pipe, mpd, short pipe, baro . I have a tee right before entering chimney, with clean out.

One suggestion is to put the mpd as high as possible while still being able to reach it. This will slow the flue gas a bit before the mpd allowing for more heat to radiate into the room. The baro can be installed on a horizontal run if needed.

Thx logs, mine is a top vent also. I just didn't know if there was a certain distance the baro had to be away from the stove! If you don't mind me asking, how tall is the chubby from the floor to the top of the oval to round adapter? Delivery of my new chubby is between 10am-2pm( which stinks since I'm working night shift right now) but I could go get the pipe after work in the morning and be waiting for the stove. Thx again!!

Tcalo, thx for the response! I think I might do the baro on the horizontal going into the thimble instead. Not sure why I didn't think of before lol.
