I think i have a guy at work convinced to give coal a try this year VS. 8cords of wood thru the wood stove. I am looking to find him a good stove to get started and found a few Gibraltars. I would like to have a fan for the stove like the Harman MK series but at a better price point. Does anyone have info on BTU output for the CFS or DDS stoves?
The cfs holds about 85 pounds of coal full . I had one . It was a great stove . With the banking plate you can really load it up . When run on sweet spot it had incredibly long burn times . Only downside was no blower but the grates were much more heavy duty than Harman stoves . I would say around 75000 btu similar to my mark 2

Getting the "Banking Plate" with a used stove is a good feat, hope it works out well for you.
