It has been a while since I have checked in other than a couple of posts. Had some recent checkups and all doc say I am doing much better. Strength is back to about 30% and getting better every day and can walk with a cane. I can lift around 15 lbs. now so better than the original 10 even though working out with light weights. A friend of mine dropped off a couple bags of Kimmels nut as he thought it silly to have a coal stove and no coal because I sold it off thinking I was never going to run the stove again. So a couple days of heat should the power go out and has me thinking I will buy 4 or 5 more just to have them for heat should the power go out. I think I could run the stove if I had to for a few days even if it took a long time to do the tending. As things stand now the docs are going to watch blood tests and evaluate in around a year the final resolution to see if I am functional or need a liver transplant. In a week or so I am going to see if I can run the machinery in the shop for an hour or so and will be a milestone if I can as it has been a year since I could without pain.

Thanks for all the kind words from all! Missing the coal but next year God willing. Just not strong enough yet. This house was built for coal heat and very easy to feel the difference as the walls never get warm with oil heat. With coal the plaster warms up and all the drafts go away

The mind is willing but the body is not yet. Next year or if a miracle later this year. It would be nice to run at least in Jan and Feb when seriously cold. Plus I hate the sound of the oil burner and to warm too cold back and forth.
