Hello to all. Its been a while since I posted anything, but I've been busy with house and automotive projects. Anyway my friend owed me a favor and he came across this. Long story short it's now in my basement waiting to be filled with coal. It came from a mill city in Ma. I think it was used to transfer coal from the bunkers to the furnace. Also pictures of some of my other projects. Maybe some other members can shed some light on the cart. weighs at least a couple hundred pounds.

Uncles vette that he restored in the eighties. Bought off my aunt after sitting for ten years. Spent last July getting roadworthy. Uncles Lacquer paint job is holding up good 30 years later.

I'm thinking that cart would have more black coal dust still stuck in the wood grain if it was used to shuttle coal ?

And with that open front, it wouldn't hold much coal for it's size ???? An industrial sized wheel barrow would hold about as much and be easier to empty.

May have been used to move rough castings from a foundry area to parts finishing rooms ?

Nice resto job on the vet !

1960 on Vette. The cart was loaded with coal fines when my friend and I picked it up. Maybe previous owner used it like I intend to. Store coal. Can't see it in the pictures, but the sides say sec.12 WR. No other markings. It is in New England so who knows what the original purpose was. I know coal powered ships also used cart systems to transfer coal. Thanks for the commments.
