Uses for Coal Ash

I have a Chubby Coal Stove and we get plenty of ash when we tend it. What are some uses for Coal Ash? Who do you dispose of it? I was wondering if I could dump it in the Garden? Curious to see what everyone's thoughts are?

Winter traction, and great for dirt driveways.

Makes excellent addition to course gravel driveway. Some speak of lightening up heavy clay soils for garden use with it.
