Hello friends. It's been a while. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of where I can get the cheapest replacement glass for my vigilant stove. Mine is pretty etched (can't complain being that the stove is as old as me) and I'd like to have it crystal clear. The cheapest I've found it so far is $53 each. Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Hmmm. $53 for a custom cut vigilant door "glass." That in all actuality is not a bad price. If you have the arched top
glass in the doors that can be a bear to cut unless you have a jig of sorts.

That is not custom cut, meaning one special piece. I don't know the basic price of that glass, uncut, but it sure is bad quality for what it purports to do.

Pyrex is far superior and does not etch or craze, but I suspect it can not be used in large pieces, since where it is used it is in narrow strips placed side by side to cover a large opening.

In the Vigilant I see the etching only above the front grill

Regular glass will work but it won't last. You need the special stove glass.
