Here is an odd ball bit burner I have been slowly going over, still haven't made up my mind if I'm going to have the nickle re done or not. I still have a ways to go before I need to worry about that anyways

Excuse the messy basement, haven't had a chance to pick it up since I filled the other half with wood and coal..

Nice looking stove so far....... I may just get the bug to pick up an old stove like that. Then go all through it. It brings back memories.

I'm building a off grid cabin in northern Vermont and this is going to heat it next winter but will probably only burn wood

It is a direct draft stove with a rotating 3 piece draw grate here are some more pics can anyone tell me the purpose of the small cast swing door with the mica windows I asked a few years ago when I got it and I can't seem to remember if anyone knows
The pics if the hinges are of the detail of the casting but the pics didn't come out that clear

Those flaps were used on some of the mica stoves I've seen for poker rod access to above the grate area for times when only a poke was needed instead of rolling all the grates. :)

what he said :clap: poker door, likely used more for wood btw (but nice having it nonetheless)

Randy has had good luck using a flat black paint, and then applying a stove policsh over that. Here are some pictures of his latest stove:
