So... The 20th century I finished and gave to a good friend that helped me a lot on my camp as a house warming gift for his new 1820 house, "he has 3 chimneys and it looked so naked in there". So I installed my hickory in the camp with my 1925 glenwood gas range. Here are some pics of the almost finished inside complete with 2 antique stoves!

Looks wonderful, Dana. You did a really nice job of it !!!!! Is there an indoor bath,.... or "path".
And it doesn't hurt the place at all having Glenwood stoves.
I see a rifle rack - is this going to be your hunting cabin, too ?

This is all around cabin, yes I will hunt this fall from it, it is 3 miles from the nearest power and 1 mile from the end of a dirt road. No water no bath just a out house and a out door shower right now next summer I will make a water collection system and water heater to go with my solar panel on the roof, so for now just a good Ol fashion privy which I hear about every time my wife has to go out in the dark.... I tried to make it look like it was made 100 years ago even used a turn of the century ice box for a fridge, and 80 year old rusty barn roofing. Still gotta Finnish the out side thoughSunny Boy wrote:Looks wonderful, Dana. You did a really nice job of it !!!!! Is there an indoor bath,.... or "path".

Looks OUTSTANDING DJ! Hell, get Momma a night indoor pot--even the old timers weren't silly enough to go to the outhouse in the middle of the night. Yep, lid & all that good stuff.

Thanks. I'm really pleased how it's coming out. She has mentioned getting one of those bucket seats for the night. If I can find a good deal on a composting John I will add a room on the side but my priority is covering the tyvek on the outside next

An inexpensive plastic toilet seat on top of a 5 gallon bucket, saves needing to use the "path" in the middle of the night.D.lapan wrote:Thanks. I'm really pleased how it's coming out. Love the nostalgia DJ. Wish I could convince "my" better half of doing our old farmhouse as detailed as your cabin. The ice box is the caveat. As for the smelly pot, tell the Mrs. "just don't eat", when you go there. Nothing in, nothing out.
(I'm sure she'll go for that.)
