Fan Noise

Modern and vintage hand fired coal stove are similar to a wood stove and in some cases can burn either. They need to be regulated and fed by hand usually every 12 to 24 hours depending on your usage. They require no power to operate making them ideal for rural settings with long power outages.

I have a Harman Mk I stove with the stock blower. I have a rheostat to run it at low speed, but it tends to whine and transmits the whine and vibration to the stove body which amplifies it. The metal-to-metal connection to the stove is less than ideal. Can anyone suggest a simple way to remedy this? I believe I saw a previous post about mounting the fan to an external box of some sort, and using dryer vent hose to connect to the port on the stove. But I can't find that post.... Suggestions, anyone?

I got this 3-speed blower fan to connect up to my Harman TLC-2000 for $24.00 at Lowes last month...Works great!
(just hook it up to your stove with a few duct fittings)

The fan (either your Haman or any fan) can be separated frfom the stove & connected via short duct fittings.
