Lot colder here, in the 30's in am high in the 50's. Let the Harman go owt a couple of weeks ago ; However have a small pacific energy woodstove in living room to keep the chill off. Hate to admit it but thank GOD for my wood stove. When will summer ever get here???

I have several tons of coal left. I let the Glenwood go out a few days ago and the house grew unpleasantly chilly. I started it back up and it is going today. The ground is still very cold and when there is no fire, the basement gets cold rapidly and it cools the whole house.
I have the stove simmering at around 250 and that is just enough. The long range forecast says that the first 2 weeks of May are going to be cooler and wetter than normal.
The stove may simmer for quite a while longer.

yes, I hate to repeat it but the long range for around here is not pleasant till June.

looks like I will either relight or tough out some rustic conditions in the house.

Global warming my a$$. I wonder if lying Al Gore would like to repeat his previous mantra about it. There are polar bears starving in Alaska is too thick because the seals can't break through it. I am working away on my Crane 404 between work and house projects but loading the wood stove as I frozen my buns off last night and tonight is not going to get any better. Yikes is all that I can say..

The way this winter has been going, I'm so glad I ordered an extra ton last year. Plus, hooking up that mano gauge helped to reduce my coal usage.

Another plus is that with the ridiculously high price of pro-pain for the gas stove, being able to do all the cooking with the range makes using coal all the better.

Not happy about the lingering cold weather and added to that, . . . Wilson cast up some firebox brick liners for my range. They arrived yesterday and it looks like it's gonna be a while to see how they fit !

I'm down to my last bag of Pea coal and have about 10 bags of nut. I think this is the most coal I've ever burned this season. 4.5 tons and I've got no plans on shutting down yet. This weather SUCKS.
