I didn't even think about a sliding motion - I can see how that wouldn't clear ash all that effectively. You've got it down well enough to get through this year. And since you have the Chubby you'll be all set for some good burning next year.

I wouldn't follow the video shake methodology if I was you, I think it would disturb the boys naps.
