you would have had to bring your own chair

there were always LOTS of people there you would have liked talking to. I wish they were still with us, I had a ball and learned just about everything that means anything to me now in that house, yard and out on the lake.

To I'm on fire: Just maybe the reason you don't get 'flagged' on this site, is, although I'm twice your age, I agree with some, not all, of the statements you post. I'm a Conservative Independent(NOT Rep/Dem). Both parties are corrupt. It's gonna take a lot of Patriots to make America the country that we once were.
That's my 2 cents,
Cheers

It was a balmy 15°F here this morning. I spent the day moving one of my log piles so I could cut wood tomorrow. The logs were so tangled up that I could not pull them down to cut them up. So I now can cut wood tomorrow. It is supposed to be 28°F here tomorrow, than in the 30°F's. Should be a nice day to cut wood.
Dan.

It was -5 when I got rolling today, but if it warms up, we'll be shutting down our stoves and have nothing to forum about til next winter.

I'll take lies, half truths, fibs....anything. If they call for 30 and it only gets to 20...I can live with that. On the other hand, this year they seem to be spot on for sh*tty weather predictions. :mad3:

We are now nearly 500 degree days ahead of this time last year. That's just short of 15% more degree days this year over last year,......and Winter isn't done with us yet!

A degree day is a relative way to measure the amount of heating or cooling required for the daily average temperature when compared to a reference temperature. Usually 65 degrees.

That definition on Wiki-O-Pedia is awful! Talk about confusing....sheesh!

A degree day is..... take the high and low temps of the day & average them. Subtract that from 65 & the answer is the number of degree days. Example: The high was 50, the low was 10. The average is 30. 65 minus 30 is 35. So that day had 35 degree days.

Fuel companies that deliver use degree days to figure out how much fuel you probably used. The newspapers tell you how many degree days are expected each year in your area. They also tell you how many have actually occurred. The bottom line: Using degree days tells us how cold it usually is compared to how cold this year actually is.

Odd.... I haven't looked for some time.... for this heating season we are almost spot on for average cold. It sure seems like it's been colder than normal! (9 below zero as I type)
