Best Fireproof Gloves for Chubby Ash Pan Handling?

Any Chubby owners have any suggestions on a pair of gloves that can actually handle the heat from a Chubby ash pan? Leather bbq gloves are not tough enough, the fingertips are burning. I need to walk the ash pan 50 feet to the garage where I keep my ash bucket (to keep the dust plume out of my house). I see many varieties online: ove gloves, leather lined with felt, aramid lined with cotton, etc. What's the best?

A good pair of welding gloves. You can purchase a nice pair from tractor supply or some welding store, Home Depot or Lowes. They work really well, your hands and fingers will not get burned.

Get a second ash pan, then you can let the full one cool.

believe it or not, I've been using a pair of "ov-gloves" (yes, from the info mercials ) for yrs. never been burned and you can wash them so if you aren't thinking and touch some part of her 'decorating' you don't leave huge black finger marks.

Maybe having an ash pan lid with a handle could help to carry the ash pan outside? Clean, safe and easy.

Leather gloves with wool liners otherwise why not let it sit outside the stove for a brief time, the time it would take to drink a beer should be about right.

That beats my 2nd ash pan idea.

If you go to a welding supply house (airco or whatever), you will find a large variety of cheap welding gloves and expensive welding gloves, upon trying them all on you will swiftly learn that ALL other places that sell welding gloves (from home depot to big value outlet) ONLY have the cheapo ones (they are very stiff, they are always tan/brown in color)... You will see at a pro welding supply house that you CAN get a more expensive pair of welding gloves that are durable, thick and also supple and soft and will allow you to grab the ashpan much easier (they will usually be grey or black and have a much softer/flexable feel), they are made for pro welders who don't need to get their left hand glove near the arc in order to lay down dimes but they are perfect for the coal stove user!

+2 you'll feel the heat through them but it's not so bad.

Sorry guys but the best way to work an ashpan is: ( ""this one is for Doug"" ) the Vermont Castings sliding out ash pan with a slide over lid.
No need for knitted gloves

I also use welding gloves. I like them also because they are long and I can reach into the fire box without burning my forearms. They were rather inexpensive too. Less than $20.

Thats it... getting in my truck with my sledge hammer.... gonna put an end to that silly womans ash pan once N for all your required to put pink nail polish on to use that BTW
