I replaced the two pieces of glass, replaced the gasket around both pieces of glass as well.

I want to replace the white gasket around the door jam and around the ash bin door. How do I measure the width? Measure the area where the gasket came from, or actually measure the gasket itself. I want to upgrade to the grey gasket material rather than the white...

measure the channel (the gasket you buy will be slightly larger than that channel appears), make sure you put the seam towards the top of the door (I don't like using a corner to start, but rather an inch or two below the top corner to "hinge side"), install the gasket, close door LIGHTLY and allow cement to set up if used.
