Stove Moves While Shaking Down

Hell, just put some bricks (4) under the stove & find a piece of scrap steel --1/8" or what-ever (or buy it) & lay it on the bricks--wala--HEAT-SHEILD

I just threw bricks with one steel shim up front under my Mark III when I installed it. Ain't a damn thing in this house that's level ...

I always found it beneficial to heat the concrete. When the stove gets low, or goes out accidentally, your still heating your home with the hot concrete ...and anything else with mass that warmed up around it. Even though my house bleeds heat like you read about, I never lost much temp when reloading due to that fact.

The floor under my stove is uneven; like ever floor in this house and I just used pieces of ceramic tile under the feet.

Same with us, Our King O Heat is in the basement laundry room, and on bare cement floor. We too leave the basement door to our dining room open slightly and the convection of the heat up, is wonderful.
The solution to the stove moving when you shake it down is this:

Its plywood bolted to the cement floor. The floor never gets hot under the stoves, so its safe to use plywood.

I'm not to keen on using combustible materials under the stove, what happens worse case scenerio some hot coals decide to spill on that plank of wood? I know worst case scenerio but is it worth the risk?

Yes, I guess that could happen, but in our 30 years of using our King O Heat stoves, we've never had hot coal come out onto the floor.
We also are in our basement a lot, so the coal stoves arent unobserved much. This is my laundry room, and the workshop is there too.

But thats a good point, my husband could easily make the same brace out of scrap aluminum.

We bought this one new, and the other one beside it, second hand and had to replace the firebrick and my husband had to repair the shaker grate. But it works perfectly now.
Its disconnected for summer, we start it up in mid November, and we have to clean the stove up and check it over. The pipe is already cleaned and painted.
We get our coal delivered in November and will put a ton or 2 into our bin, the bin holds 3 tons.

I LOVE the pictures on the "pictures of your stove" link, the 4 cats in the chairs is so funny.
