Should I Use Adhesive to Install Gaskets on Hitzer?

I have hitzer hand fire want to install new gaskets should I use adhesive or dry install the gaskets .Thanks jack Den034071

always adhesive made for the gaskets on a coal stove.

Jack, I use the cement that comes with the kits--works fine--after 3 seasons I'm changing all gaskets just because I can & they're not that expensive--especially the flat gasket on my hopper door.

I concur. Always a good idea to use the adhesive to ensue a nice tight fit.

I use Red RTV now. I dislike the adhesive crap that comes with the gaskets. I also change all my gaskets every year. It's cheap and I don't have to worry about them failing halfway through the season like they did one year.
