Too destructive for such an elegant stove. I'm not one to speak because I cut holes in mine to accomdate a bimetal draft reguator, but if it didn't work, you'd be left with either pipes running through the chubby or a mess of holes to plug or weld... leaving you with an undead FrankenChubby. :crutch: There was no smiley of a Zombie, sorry.

No, the preceding responses pretty much indicated that the results would not be worth the effort. I plan on moving my stove out and way from my hearth before the cold weather sets in. Right now, my chubby abuts up against the hearth opening. This causes much of the heat the stove gives off to heat an entire brick wall. By moving it out by 12 to 18 inches maybe there will be more radient heat flow.
